XED BEVERAGES

XED is an alcoholic beverage brand created by two college students in a basement who were sick of bad hard seltzers and unhealthy gluten-filled beverages.

XED came to us with a couple of problems—number one being that no one could pronounce their brand name. So with a new name we developed a solid identity.

Make it stand out.

The first phase was landscape research: how can we disrupt the already so crowded seltzer space?

we’ve identified 4 strategic directions to test based on current brand attributes: Affordable luxury, utility, health, and manly beer alternative.

Design Iterations

Our answer: Dark packaging and an unapologetic tone provides a unique experience and a great differentiator against many seltzer brands that emphasize “lightness” in packaging and flavor.

Make it stand out.

Sesh’s “All flavor, no bullshit” mantre carries onto the design. Masculine, classic, luxurious but not intimiating. Bold. Simple. Matter-of-fact. Content marketing follows suit. Sesh is incredibly contemporary and self-aware.
